Objectives:
Time in Seizure Is Brain:
- Distinguish between convulsive status (CSE) and non-convulsive status epilepticus (NCSE).
- Prioritize medications into first-tier, second-tier and third-tier interventions to manage SE
- Develop hospital-based protocols on managing CSE/NCSE ensuring advanced monitoring/care
Recategorizing and Managing TBI:
- Assess the effects of injury to the brain in the neurologic-injured patient and implement strategies to manage severe TBI.
- Redefine TBI severity using new proposed criteria
- Evaluate TBI patients using noninvasive and invasive multimodality monitoring & apply algorithms to manage pts

Mary Kay Bader, CCRN, CNRN, SCRN, CCNS has over 45 years of y experience with an emphasis in neuroscience/ICU. She has lectured nationally and internationally on traumatic brain injury (TBI), targeted temperature management (TTM), intracranial pressure (ICP), spinal cord injury, aneurysm, subarachnoid hemorrhage (SAH), novel anticoagulants in the presence of intracranial hemorrhage and stroke. Mary Kay was honored as a Fellow for NCS in October 2013 and currently sits on the Board of Directors.
